The rehabilitation of obsolete office buildings into housing is often promoted as a virtuous solution combining reuse and good land management. When carried out to meet the comfort standards of private real estate developers, these renovations often prove heavy and costly, and struggle to meet the demand for affordable housing. By minimizing architectural interventions, the project does not aim for "optimal" but instead proposes interventions that are "good enough". By preferring "not to do" and limiting itself to strategic, targeted actions, this is not about taming a functionalist architecture, but rather about "settling" for offering 200 financially accessible housing units.
